ICICI Prudential Value

ICICI Prudential Value is a value oriented equity fund from ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund. This page covers the direct plan, growth option, the version with no distributor commission inside its expense ratio. A fund in this category follows a value style, buying companies that look cheap against their earnings or assets and waiting for the market to agree.

It manages ₹57,250 crore of investors' money and charges an expense ratio of 1.08 percent a year, deducted before the NAV is struck. Its direct plan lost 8.01 percent over the past year but has returned 11.8 percent a year over three years, 12.8 percent a year over five years and 14.3 percent a year over ten years; figures beyond a year are annualised, and past returns say nothing certain about future ones. The scheme is managed by Mrinal Singh.

The riskometer places it at very high risk, where most equity funds sit. Its stated objective: The scheme seeks to generate returns through a combination of dividend income and capital appreciation by investing primarily in a well-diversified portfolio of value stocks.

How ICICI Prudential Value is taxed

Mutual fund gains are capital gains, taxed when you redeem, and the rate depends on what the scheme holds and how long you held the units. The rules below are those in force after the Finance Act of 2024 for redemptions from 23 July 2024, with the changes of April 2025 for gold, silver and international funds. Rupix is not a tax adviser; confirm the treatment for your own case.

Equity-oriented schemes, those keeping at least sixty-five percent in Indian shares, which includes most aggressive hybrid, arbitrage and equity savings funds, are taxed at the equity rates. Units sold within twelve months of purchase are short-term, taxed at twenty percent. Units held longer are long-term, taxed at twelve and a half percent on gains above one lakh twenty-five thousand rupees in a financial year, with no indexation. Securities transaction tax is deducted on redemption.
